THOUGHTS ON CONFIRMATION
 by Melissa Heilner

This day has been the outcome of two years.  I personally have spent them enjoying the company with my fellow classmates.  The activities were very fun and taught me lessons that I will hope not to forget.  Besides the time I spent with my friends, the adults that made it possible can’t be forgotten.  For that, we would like to present them with a few words and gifts.

We began this road in eighth grade.  That year we were fortunate to have two very kind teachers for our regular Sunday School class, Mrs. Sue Albohn and Mrs. Bonnie Lauer.

For our ninth grade Sunday School class, we were in the hands of Ms. Elaine Mauchline and Mr. Dick Kleinsmith.  Elaine was also at our weekend retreat to watch us over the night and in the morning, and accompanied the group to our trip to Aldi and the Lutheran Food Pantry.

We would like to thank our parents for being supportive over these years and providing rides to the church when needed.  Also, the senior citizens in our congregation that we had to interview were very kind in taking time out of their busy schedule to speak with us.  Thank you.

Besides the regular Sunday School classes we would not have been able to experience some of our other things without adult supervision.  We would especially like to thank Mrs. Wendy Yost for  watching us late into the night at our overnight.  She had a great amount of patience and we are all grateful for that.  The whole class is very thankful for the home we got to spend the day and night in at our weekend retreat.  The home that was very beautiful and very cozy belonged to Mrs. Susie Helyenek.  She was able to put up with our day game of capture the flag and our after dark game of manhunt.  We felt the need to express our gratitude to this level for the weekend was a most memorable experience.

We would also like to thank Sue Creed for all she has done.  Shecontinued from page 7) accompanied us to the Lutheran Food Pantry as well, and has been involved with our group for the last two years.

Most of all, we have the greatest thanks for all that Pastor Sue has done for the class.  She was there for every step of the way and has taught us many things life will only teach us.  She is a great pastor and we are very happy to have her with us.  We will present her with a book of the activities we have done in the past two years and photographs also so she will never forget our shining faces.
